Treatment may include medication management (e.g. Suboxone treatment for opioid use disorder), psychotherapy, coordination with other providers, or additional support depending on your needs.

Addiction
Addiction, also called substance use disorder, is a condition that can affect the brain, behavior, decision-making, relationships, and daily functioning.
A person may continue using a substance even when it is causing problems in their health, work, family life, or emotional well-being.
Substance use concerns can involve many types of substances, including:
Addiction is not a character flaw. It is a complex medical and psychiatric condition that deserves thoughtful, evidence-based care.
Addiction
Substance use and mental health are often closely connected.
Some people use substances to cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia, stress, or emotional pain. Others develop mental health symptoms as substance use begins to affect sleep, mood, relationships, work, or physical health.
Substance use concerns may occur alongside conditions such as:
Because these concerns can overlap, a thorough psychiatric evaluation is an important first step. The goal is to understand the full picture and create a treatment plan that addresses both substance use and mental health needs.

treatments
Treatment depends on each patient’s needs, symptoms, goals, and safety considerations.
At Adelpha, addiction-related care may include:
Medication may be used when clinically appropriate to support recovery, reduce cravings, manage withdrawal-related symptoms, or treat co-occurring psychiatric conditions.
Adelpha physicians provide outpatient Suboxone treatment for opioid use disorder when appropriate. Suboxone may help reduce cravings and support recovery as part of a broader treatment plan.
Therapy can help patients better understand patterns, triggers, cravings, relationships, and coping strategies. It may also support treatment for underlying anxiety, depression, trauma, or other psychiatric concerns.
Some patients benefit from collaboration with therapists, primary care physicians, treatment programs, support groups, or other healthcare professionals. When appropriate and with consent, Adelpha can help coordinate care.

Many patients come to Adelpha without knowing exactly what condition they may be experiencing.
Symptoms often overlap. Anxiety can look like ADHD. Depression can occur alongside trauma. Mood changes may have many possible causes.
The purpose of the consultation process is not simply to assign a label. It is to understand the full picture and help determine what type of support may be most appropriate.
Whether you have an existing diagnosis, are seeking a second opinion, or are simply looking for answers, our team can help guide the next step.
Insurance support is part of making care accessible
We know cost and insurance questions can be stressful. Our team will help make the financial side of care as clear as possible and help you understand what information is needed before treatment begins.
Adelpha accepts many commercial insurance plans and also offers courtesy billing for out-of-network patients. For patients using out-of-network PPO benefits, our courtesy billing service can help reduce the burden of submitting superbills independently.
The first step is a consultation process.
Thoughtful care starts with a thorough evaluation.
At Adelpha, getting started does not mean rushing into treatment without context. The first few visits start with an initial consultation period. This process includes at least two visits for adults and three visits for children and adolescents within the first month. This gives your physician or marriage and family therapist time to understand your history, current concerns, goals, previous treatment, and what kind of care may be helpful.
When appropriate, your physician or marriage and family therapist may ask to coordinate with your prior or current mental health providers, your primary care physician, or family members involved in your care. At the end of the consultation phase, we will share our impressions and recommendations. We will work with you to determine whether ongoing care with Adelpha is clinically appropriate and develop a comprehensive treatment plan.
