Jennifer Cohenmehr, MD

Jennifer Cohenmehr, MD, is a board-eligible adult psychiatrist practicing at Adelpha Psychiatric Group in Encino, California.

Dr. Cohenmehr earned her BA in Biological Sciences with a minor in Music from the University of California Santa Barbara, and her master's in public health from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She then attended medical school at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. While pursuing her medical studies, she created a therapeutic arts group, led a student-run mobile clinic for underserved patients, and was elected by peers to the Gold Humanism Honor Society to serve as a mentor in areas of humanism and patient connection. Dr. Cohenmehr completed psychiatry residency at UCLA-Resnick Neuropsychiatric Institute, serving as Chief of Community and Global Psychiatry and completing a concentration in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. During her training, Dr. Cohenmehr also focused on women's mental health including reproductive psychiatry. 

Dr. Cohenmehr has specialized training in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy for anxiety disorders, mood disorders, perinatal mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, psychotic disorders, and ADHD. She has experience with different psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, psychodynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mentalization based therapy, and affect phobia therapy. She incorporates lifestyle approaches to provide whole-person care to her patients.
